What is the legal maximum weight allowable for vehicles?

The maximum allowable/legal GIBA bridge weight limits are as follows:

34,000 pounds -- ALL 2 axle vehicles
40,000 pounds -- ALL 3 or more axled vehicles

WEIGHT LIMIT EXCEPTION:
The maximum weight limit for three or more axled vehicles may be exceeded by 1,000 pounds (41,000 lbs. max.) This may occur ONLY if occupant of the vehicle agrees to pay a fine. According to the State of Florida overweight fines of $5.00 is to be charged per 100 lbs. over maximum weight. Thus, 1,000 pounds over the maximum 40,000 would equal a fine of $50

The GIBA Weigh Scale has been certified by the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Department of Standards for commerical use. The new GIBA truck scale is certified to weigh trucks up to 120,000 pounds.
